Following a lengthy dispute that began in November 2022, OMEGA X announced on May 8 that they were no longer bound by their contract with the agency. Check out the following announcement.
“Greetings, I am OMEGA X.
OMEGA X and SPIRE Entertainment reached an amicable agreement to terminate the exclusive contract after deliberate and protracted discussions. As a consequence, we resolved all disputes with our former agency, SPIRE Entertainment, and resolved to work in our respective positions for the development of K-pop.
OMEGA X intends to continue its activities in the future with a manager who has shared our pleasures and sorrows since before our debut. We will return with quality music and an enhanced appearance. We request your assistance with OMEGA X as we take a new step forward.
Thank you.”
What was the legal dispute between OMEGA X and SPIRE Entertainment?
The members of the band OMEGA X filed a lawsuit against their former management label SPIRE Entertainment after alleged altercations during a U.S. tour. Since then, the organization has conducted a press conference to disclose the allegations of physical and verbal abuse against the company’s former CEO.
The public was made aware of the allegations of maltreatment of members over the years, as well as their subsequent mental health treatment. The agency’s CEO and chairman’s demands for settlement fees and abusive text messages were disclosed, and video evidence of physical abuse was obtained.
In response, the CEO resigned, and the court issued an injunction suspending their exclusive contracts in January 2023. Recent events indicate that the group is now independent of SPIRE Entertainment and will embark on a new voyage with a reputable manager.
