Caitriona Balfe is having a difficult time saying goodbye to the Outlander series, which will conclude with the airing of its eighth and final season later this year.
The Irish actor shared his thoughts on the matter with RTÉ Entertainment, stating, “It’s going to be extremely sad, very bittersweet.
It’s had a wonderful run, and by the time it’s over, it will have been more than a decade, which is an unbelievable amount of time to spend as a character on a program, and I will be bereft of having that time with Claire.

The man, now 43 years old, “I believe that I have gotten institutionalized as a result of being so accustomed to having my Outlander family tell me where to go and what to do.
However, I also believe that it is time to face new difficulties, which I hope are on the horizon. However, there is little doubt that it will be bittersweet.
Balfe has stated that she enjoys examining the ambiguous aspects of the character Claire Randall, which is why she has played the role of Claire Randall for more than a decade.
“I’ve taken this character from her early twenties to her sixties and it’s such a huge privilege to live with a character for that long, to be able to do it over ten years and to have that time and what she’s experienced to build those memories and in my own self as well,” she continued.
