The actress Amanda Bynes is once again on a 5150 psychiatric detention following her recent arrest.
According to aceshowbiz.com, the troubled former child star has been again placed on mandatory psychiatric hold after being deemed a danger to herself and others.
Amanda herself called the Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday, June 17 to report a woman in distress, according to a new report from TMZ. Saturday morning, as previously reported, she was apprehended by LAPD officers and transported to a police station for a medical evaluation to determine if she required further treatment.
She saw therapists and regularly took her medication at the time.
According to witnesses, Amanda was calm during her interaction with the police and “looked defeated” as she was placed in the rear of one of the three vehicles that visited her. She can now be held against her will for up to 72 hours, per the law.
Amanda has been placed on psychiatric detention twice in the current year. In March, she was discovered nude and alone in a downtown Los Angeles street. Subsequently, she was placed on psychiatric hold in a mental health ward, but she later fled the facility.
Prior to her release, it was reported that the 37-year-old actress would “enroll in an outpatient mental health treatment program” upon being released; however, now that she is no longer under conservatorship, she is free to make her own medical decisions.
In May, sources provided troubling updates on Amanda’s condition, claiming that the ‘Easy A’ star was now living a “sad and isolated” existence without any companions. The sources told TMZ that she was living alone in her own apartment and “hasn’t been focusing on some of her passions” such as fashion design and being a manicure technician.
