According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed 10.80 crore in India on Tuesday. After a 220 crore domestic weekend, the picture dropped to 20 crore on Monday. T-Series reported 375 crore gross worldwide as of Monday. Tuesday statistics suggest a freefall.
On Sunday, dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir stated the directors will “revise some of the dialogues” and add them to the film in a week after the response.
The audience verdict caused fall
On Sunday, distributor-exhibitor Akshay Rathi told PTI that Adipurush’s ticket window business dropped by 65%. The decline is because the audience didn’t like the film, which is disappointing. He reported a 65–70% reduction.
We produce movies for the audience, thus the verdict matters. Audiences applaud good movies. “If they don’t like something, they don’t,” he continued.
Adipurush’s Bad press
Arun Govil, Sunil Lahri, Dipika Chikhlia, and Mahabharat’s Mukesh Khanna all criticized the film.
AICWA, a trade group, has asked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prohibit Adipurush. It labeled the film “complete disaster of our faith in Shri Ram and Ramayan”.
“Prabhu Shri Ram is a god for everyone in India no matter what religious faith one comes from, this movie depicts Lord Ram and even Raavan, who looks like a character of a video game, with dialogues hurting every Indian in the country and across the globe,” it said.
